Our Response

COVID-19 RESPONSE

It is no secret that Covid-19 has brought with it additional challenges and struggles across the world. At Granville Court, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our residents, visitors and staff is always our top priority and we are continuing with our robust and comprehensive response to Coronavirus. Our plans are kept under regular review and are updated as and when advised by the public health authorities.

New Admissions - We are safely welcoming new residents into our care home, so please don’t hesitate to contact us if you are looking for care or need any further help. We want to assure you that when we admit new residents we have clear protocols in place to ensure that the wellbeing of all residents is maintained.

Indoor Visiting - Indoor visiting is fully supported by the home - if you wish to visit a resident of Granville Court, we would encourage you to call 01900 818513 to let us know when you intend to visit, once your visit is booked you will receive guidance on any actions to take to ensure the visits are as safe as possible.

Reduce the risk of transmission (Including Contractors) - If you are visiting Granville Court it is important that you do so safely and in a way that minimises the risk of infection to our residents and staff. Therefore, before visiting and whilst on site, please ensure you comply with our meet & greet protocol upon arrival and follow this guidance:

  • Expect to take a lateral flow test before entering the building, we can support you with this.

  • Do not visit if you are currently self-isolating, have tested positive or experienced symptoms of Covid-19 in the past 14 days

  • Hand washing - It is important that you wash your hands thoroughly before you visit Granville Court, and on arrival as well as regularly if you enter the home. Please make sure you wash your hands for a minimum or 20 seconds, using either hot water and soap or 60% alcohol sanitiser gel. The NHS has a video guide to effective handwashing, which you can see here

WE ARE FULLY VACCINATED!

Some of our residents wanted to say a big THANK YOU to our GP surgery for vaccinating us all against Covid-19.

STAFF LOCK DOWN

In January 2021, during the spike of the ‘Second Wave’ we made the decision to lock down the home. Staff volunteered themselves to isolate within the home with the residents and work around the clock for a full 3 week period. Meaning we had eradicated the footfall of staff entering and leaving the home, whilst the infection rate in the local area was extremely high. We were hopeful that our 3 week lock down period would give our vaccinations enough time to offer our residents and staff a good level of protection against Covid-19.
