A description of the home

Granville Court Residential Home is a large end of terrace Victorian house situated on a quiet street close to the town centre in Maryport. The River Ellen runs alongside the property which adds a certain level of peace and ambience to the residents’ environment when they spend time in the garden areas or with their windows open. The home is accessible via car with ample on the road parking, rail with the train station being a 2-minute walk away and via bus with the closest stop being a 2-minute walk in the opposite direction to the train station.

Granville Court has all the finishing touches you would expect from a warm and welcoming home, attractive décor and well maintained outdoor areas. All bedrooms are en-suite, enabling us to deliver person-centred care in a dignified manner, promoting independence as far as possible. Granville Court has ten single person ensuite bedrooms and one large ensuite bedroom that can be shared by two people. Granville Court is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide residential care for up to twelve residents who live in the home.

Granville Court has a warm and homely environment providing a light and airy communal lounge where most residents choose to spend their time, a designated dining area for mealtimes, downstairs and upstairs wet rooms with additional grab rails and shower chairs to make showering as easy as possible for residents. Each bedroom comes furnished with wardrobes, drawers, a profiling bed, and armchair, with each ensuite having a toilet, basin and bathroom cupboards to store toiletries. The home also boasts a well-maintained garden and patio area where we often hold garden parties and fundraisers during the summer months. Residents usually like to spend time in the garden area enjoying the warm weather and chatting to visitors.
